TRADITIONAL BASQUE FOLK SONGS

LINK:

   https://www.reddit.com/r/basque/comments/2jr8sb/which_are_the_most_known_folk_songs/

"There are many Basque folk artists, I'll try to name some of the best known ones.

General folk music
Oskori is widely known and has published a fair number of albums. They mainly sing "modern" versions of traditional Basque songs, but also have many self-produced songs.
Alboka is another one, with a lesser variety of songs than Oskorri, but much more folk-oriented. Their name comes from a traditional wind instrument called alboka, which is widely used in their songs.
Kepa Junkera, his songs are mostly self-composed and instrumental-only, and he uses mostly Basque traditional instruments, such as the trikitixa and txalaparta.
Hiru truku, traditional Basque songs and poems, focused mainly, but not only, on Biscayan folk.
Alaitz eta Maider, a female duo.
Tapia eta Leturia, nice folk songs sung mainly in different Basque dialects.

Classic songs
This may not be folk per se, but are either historical or classical songs, and have a big role in the Basque identity.
Hegoak is a traditional Basque song, very popular in the northern Basque Country.
Txoria txori, a version of Hegoak by songwriter Mikel Laboa, very, very famous. If you could, you should check the rest of his songs, they are all very good, all with similar tone and some are very revolutionary (politically).
Oi ama Euskal Herri, by Benito Lertxundi. He is a very well known folk songwriter. I recommend more songs from him. This song in particular is sung in Souletin Basque, which makes it even more special.
Gernikako Arbola, by Iparragirre, almost a Basque anthem."
